Welcome to the 'Latest Jewels' Award Winners page. Within these pages you will find those sites which, in my humble opinion, represent the best the Internet. has to offer. They all are safe for family viewing, they all excel in both presentation and content and last but not least, they all exude an enormous amount of love and pride in their making. My hat is off to all winners.... they have earned it!
My sincere thanks to Kitty for her splendid Jewel Box design, made exclusively for The Omega Connection. If you, as a winner, displays this beautiful graphic, I'd be grateful if you inserted the following credit code somewhere on the page.

And now,.... the envelope, please....
If you are new to the Internet and are wondering just what it's all about then search no more. The Newtown Bee will answer all of your 'newbie' questions and then more! Since I discovered this little gem, I have spent hours exploring the hundreds of articles and chasing their recommended links all over the map. And I expect to spend much more time doing the same in the near future.
This site is incredible! For example, a visit to the Victor Borge's info page will lead you to a wealth of information on what Seniors can do on the Net. And every 'info page', as the author calls it, is a gold mine of data of interest to any serious surfer.

What really got me all fired up about this site is the incredible amount of useful information it, and the links provided, contain. The site covers subjects which, at first sight, have little to do with 'surfing the Net' yet, in a way, have everything to do with it. For example, I found an article about 'heart attack'. In turn, this article led me to the best sources one could find on the subject on the Net. And I could go on, and on... Check it out folks!
Ever wondered why you never see dead birds in the forest? Or how many stars are up there or why cats hate water? Let Dr. Universe enlighthen you. This site is supposed to be for kids only but, I'm over 60 and I've been totally captivated by it. This site also includes some of the best links to 'knowledge' oriented sites I have encountered. Go visit and see for yourself. A real Jewel if ever there was one.

Phil Smith's (AKA Satman) Music. Some of the nicest music available on the Net will be found at this site. Phil was one of the first contributors to the Omega site. Great music. You can check his biography here

Never laughed so hard and for so long! There are funny sites then, once in a blue moon... you find really, really 'funny' sites. This is one of them. When I read the first paragraph describing this incredible house, I just knew I'd just have to visit it all. I dropped in 'for a minute' and am still browsing around this fabulous house some two hours later. You get to meet the whole family; what a bunch of... 'odd but sympatico' individuals. Go see for yourself!

Parlor Songs... Reminiscenses of Years gone by.... There is only one word to describe this site: it's a Treasure! This site oozes quality - in its presentation and in the quality of the music featured. As a music lover, you will appreciate what good music sounded like way back when. As a programmer, you will witness what a good 'page' should look like. Either way, you cannot miss! Check it out and.... enjoy!

LadyJ, New York StyleMove over Ann L.... here comes LadyJ! Here's a site that has it all, or so it seems. Not only can you get good, sensible advice but you can also get some toys, tool, fonts, graphics and what have you. If you want to see a cute way to present photos on the Net, make it a point to visit LadyJ's 'photo' page. My hunch is... you will bookmark this site (if only not to miss that 'font of the week' )
Robin states in her opening page..."There is something for everyone so... take your shoes off and stay awhile!" Having spent quite some time at her site I can vouch for the accuracy of her opening remarks. And I suggest you take her advice. Make yourself comfy because you'll be there for a while.
This page folks is a natural winner! Not only does it contain some of the best software I have yet to see but it boasts one of the very best photo portfolio to be seen on the Net. There you will find a collection of high-resolution photographs showing beautiful landscapes from Switzerland, Scotland and the Nordic countries. Among the software (Freeware!) you will want to try is a superb HTML Imager, a Mini-Notepad and a Super NoteTab.

Cheech Wizard's CauldronI had set your site aside some days ago for the "Kool Site of the Day", but after spending over 2 hours this morning going from one page to another, I granted it Omega's Latest Jewels Award. Your site is indeed one of the best all-around sites I have been privileged to visit in a long time. John
Do not be misled by the unpretentious title of this homepage as it could easily become your `Master Control Station' for all Net-related travels! It's that simple.
His "graphics download area" contains hundreds of homemade graphics which are not available on other pages and, I hasten to add... beautiful, high-quality graphics.
Now, I have two observations which will probably surprise any who know my thoughts on the subject but, to be objective I must mention them. The site uses frames and, although I am no great fan of this type of display I must admit I really liked his version. This is almost heresy on my part but I will also readily admit I liked his use of embedded music. The page contains a `music control-center' and although I navigated through some twenty various pages, it never caused one 'crash' or other unsavory mishap.
The HTML workshop feature is one of the best I have seen to date. Easy to navigate, it covers all possible area at a depth level which will appeal to both the beginner and the expert. The author even provided an archived copy of the entire tutorial you can download and view offline, at your own leisure. A nice touch! I could discourse some more on all his other main features but it would only add to the total of kudos. Check it out. It's a winner.
